Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City welcomes you
Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels & City tour (B)
Arrive at Cu Chi Tunnels and proceed to an underground hut to watch a short documentary video and presentation about Cu Chi Tunnels during the wartime. Afterward, you will have a soft walk into the jungle to visit the bomb craters, the countless traps, the secret entrance, the fighting bunkers, the air ventilation and the constructed living areas.
For those interested, there is a chance to fire off an AK47, M16, Garand… with real bullets at the shooting range (on your own account). Furthermore, you can witness the rice-paper (spring roll skin) as well as the rice-wine production line and you can even try to go through the actual tunnel. Then, you will gather together to taste the steamed tapioca root which is the main staple food in Cu Chi during the war.
Drive back to Ho Chi Minh city. You’ll visit: the Chinatown, Thien Hau Pagoda, the History Museum and quick photo-stop at the Reunification Palace. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh – My Tho (B)
A smooth 1,5-hour bus ride passing the green rice fields leads you to the beautiful rural My Tho city.
Embark on a boat on the Mekong river. Visit fisherman’s wharf and see 4 islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, Phoenix. Stop at Thoi Son island (Unicorn) to taste tropical fruit while you are listening to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music” performed by the islanders. Visit an orchid garden.
Visit a coconut candy workshop, a famous specialty of Ben Tre province. Transfer to Ben Tre by boat. Take a short walk on village roads to explore the daily life of local people.
Then visit a family size honey bee farm and enjoy honey tea. You’ll take a rowing boat trip on Vam Chua arroyo. Visit a rice paper production workshop and back to My Tho pier.
Drive back to Ho Chi Minh city. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.
Day 4: Ho Chi Minh - Danang (Flight) -Hoi An (B)
Day 5: Hoi An walking tour and Basket Boat tour
Afternoon, enjoy the fishing experience with local fishermen by basket boat and explore the local daily life in Hoian. Overnight in Hoian.
Day 6: Hoi An – Hue City (B)
In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled the country between 1802 and 1945. Overnight in Hue.
Day 7: Hue City (B)
Afternoon, visit a conical hat and an incense stick making villages.
Cap-off the day with a visit to Dong Ba market before coming back to the hotel. Overnight in Hue.
Day 8: Hue – Hanoi (Flight) (B)
Arrive at Noi Bai airport, transfer to the city center. Visit the Museum of Ethnology.
Afternoon, take a walking tour to visit the Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son temple.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay – Hanoi (B,L)
Upon arrival, embark on your cruise ship. You will enjoy a 5-hour cruise to explore the mystery and beauty of Ha Long Bay. Cruising through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, giving us the chance to take in the stunning scenery of this World Heritage Site. While onboard we will be served a sumptuous fresh, local seafood lunch.
Return to Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 10: Hanoi – Cooking Class & City Tour (B,L)
Afternoon, visit the One Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 11: Hanoi Farewell Dinner (B,D)
Day 12: Hanoi Departure (B)
