Day 1: Vientiane welcomes you
This afternoon, we visit the oldest landmark in Vientiane, Wat Sisaket, which escaped looting by invading Siamese in the 19th century. We also visit the former royal temple of Wat Phra Keo, original home to the emerald buddha now housed in Bangkok. Continue to the national icon of Laos – “That Luang stupa” and Laos’ very own “Arc de Triomphe” the Patuxai monument, offering views over the city. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 2: Vientiane – Vang Vieng (overland) (B)
Day 3: Vang Vieng – Phonsavan (B)
Day 4: Explore Phonsavan (B)
In the afternoon, there will be time to see the old capital of Muang Khoun Province and its’ nearby villages which are home to the H’Mong hill tribe and Tai Dam people who possess an interesting local culture and a vibrant history.
After returning to the town, we also have time to visit the Mine Advisory Center and the UXO museum. Overnight in Phonsavan.
Day 5: Phonsavan – Luang Prabang (B)
Day 6: Explore Luang Prabang (B)
Along the way, we will stop at the village of Ban Xanghai famous for its local rice wine. On return, we take a short drive to another small village called Ban Phanom which is famous for its hand weaving. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 7: Luang Prabang – Parkse (B)
Pick-up at the airport, we drive north to the Bolaven Plateau. It is known for its cooler temperature being located high above the Mekong Valley. We visit the waterfall in the series, Tad Fan, Tad Yuang, Tad Cham Pee.
Return to Pakse town by early evening for overnight.
Day 8: Parkse – Don Khong (B)
After breakfast, we drive south to Champassak and to visit the fascinating pre-Angkorian ruins of Wat Phu, one of Southeast Asia’s most dramatically situated temples. We have time to explore these intriguing Khmer ruins, which are perched at the base of Mount Phu Kao.
Following lunch, we continue our journey by road and long tail boat to the 4,000 Islands area, where you have the rest of the day to relax. Overnight in Don Khong.
After an early morning breakfast, we explore Khone Island. Here we begin by re-tracing the French colonial-past at Ban Khone, where some old colonial houses still stand and glimpse the first Lao railway with its own locomotive. We continue our exploration of the 4,000 islands area by boat and visit the beautiful Liphi waterfall, also known as the Samphamith, which forms a natural border between Laos and Cambodia. We return to Ban Nakasang and drive to the famous waterfall of Khone Phapeng – the largest waterfall in South East Asia, also known as the ‘Niagara of the East’. Overnight in Don Khong.
Day 10: Don Khong – Siemreap (B)
After crossing the border to Cambodia, meeting with your tour guide and transfer from Dom Kralor to Siem Reap by crossing Steung Treng and Preah Vihear province.
After that, stop en-route to visit the temples of Koh Ker. And then, we continue to Siem Reap in the late afternoon, check-in Hotel. Overnight in Siemreap.
Day 11: Siemreap – Angkor Thom, Angkor wat (B)
In the morning, we will explore the kingdom of Angkor by visiting the last capital of the Angkorian Empire, Angkor Thom via the
South Gate, the giant stone faces city temple of Bayon, Baphoun, Phimeanakas, the Royal Palace, the Elephant Terrace and the Leper King Terrace.
In the afternoon, we are continuing to visit the epic centerpiece of Angkor Wat temple with its extraordinary architecture and bas-reliefs. End of the day, enjoy the sunset view over Angkor Wat from the top of Phnom Bakheng Hill. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 12: Siemreap – Banteay Srei, Ta Prohm (B)
In the morning, we explore the most dedicated beauty of the Khmer temple carvings of Bantey Srei in the 11th century. Continue to visit Banteay Samre, the three-tiered temple-hill of Pre Rup and Lake of Sras Srang.
In the afternoon, exploration to Ta Keo, Chau Say Tevada, Thommanon and the impressive Ta Prohm temple, where the famous film “Tomb Raider” was shot and brought the Angkor Wonders to the world. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 13: Siemreap – Tonle Sap lake – Departure (B)
In the afternoon, visit Phnom Krom, 12km south of Siem Reap on a hill overlooking Tonlé Sap lake, dates from the reign of Yasovarman I in the late 9th or early 10th century.
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. End of service.
