Day 1: Fly to Vietnam

On flight.

Day 2: Hanoi welcomes you

Arrive Hanoi. Upon arrival, our friendly local guide will meet you at the airport, transfer to the hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B,L,D)

After breakfast at your hotel, drive to Ha Long bay.

11h30: Arrive at the harbor. Welcome and transfer to the cruise ship. Briefing about the itinerary, safety instructions and check-in cabin. Enjoy a seafood lunch served on board.

You will visit a floating fishing village. Contemplate beautiful landscape with thousands of islands of different shapes and sizes. Time for relaxing on the deck or try kayaking (on your own account) & swimming (if time permits). Enjoy a dinner served on board. Overnight on board.

Day 4: Halong – Ninh Binh (B,Brunch)

Enjoy sunrise over the Bay.

Then have a light breakfast: cakes, coffee, tea… Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Then visit a beautiful cave in Halong Bay.  Check out cabins – Luggage collection.

The cruise ship returns to the wharf while you have brunch served on board.

Back to the pier.

Drive to Ninh Binh city. Check into the hotel. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 5: Trang An Landscape – Hanoi – Saigon (Flight) (B)

After breakfast, take a boat trip to visit Trang An Landscapes Complex. You will have a new experience when you get on a small sampan and follow the waterway to visit the so-called “Halong on land”, this very nice and impressive waterway is made by the sky, cloud, mountains, tropical plants… Trang An Landscape Complex is so beautiful with hundreds of islets rising from the clear water.

The boat trip will take about 2,5 hours, rowing through temples and caves: Dark cave (200m long), Three-Drop cave (250m long), Treo cave (100m long)… We will have a deep impression when we row through the Dark cave to get the other side of the mountain.

After Trang an, we drive back to Hanoi and transfer to the airport for a flight to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 6: Saigon city tour (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Full-day city tour. You’ll visit the most famous historic monuments of Ho Chi Minh city: The War Remnants Museum, The Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, The Central Post Office, the Opera House (outside), The City Hall (outside), the War Remnants Museum. Time for shopping at Ben Thanh market.

Evening, free time to explore the city nightlife. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 7: Saigon – Cai Be (120km) (B,L,D)

After breakfast, drive to Cai Be town (Tien Giang province, Mekong delta). Visit the Cao Dai temple on the way – the unique religion which exists only in Vietnam.

Enjoy an excursion on small canals by a local sampan. Check into the Mekong Ecolodge and have lunch.

Afternoon, take a biking tour to visit Tan Phong island. First of all, you’ll visit a local house to learn how to make the rice paper used to make the spring-roll dishes, then we move to another local family to see the method to knit a hammock from the rope of dry banana leaves and watch the way to make jackfruit leaf cake – specialty made only on this island. Try to do it and enjoy your cake.

You can help the host family to cook the dinner. Having dinner with them. Overnight in Mekong Ecolodge.

Day 8: Cai Be – Saigon (B)

Breakfast at the lodge, check-out, then take a motorboat to visit An Cu commune with many rice milling and processing factories along the river – the biggest rice wholesale market of Vietnam.

Drive back to Saigon. Check into your hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 9: Saigon – Cu Chi tunnels – Moc Bai – Phnompenh (B)

After breakfast, transfer to Cu Chi tunnel. Cu Chi Tunnel is 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City in the Northwest.

Arrive at Cu Chi Tunnels (Ben Dinh) and proceed to an underground hut to watch a short documentary video and presentation about Cu Chi Tunnels during the wartime. Afterward, you will have a soft walk into the jungle to visit the bomb craters, the countless traps, the secret entrance, the fighting bunkers, the air ventilation and the constructed living areas. For those interested, there is a chance to fire off a rifle such as AK47, M16, Garand, Machine gun… with real bullets at the shooting range (on your own account). Furthermore, you can witness the rice-paper (spring roll skin) as well as the rice-wine production line and you can even try to go through the actual tunnel. Then, you will gather together to test tasting the steamed tapioca root which is the main staple food in Cu Chi during the war.

Transfer to the Moc Bai border to take a visa to enter Cambodia. Another bus will pick you up from here and continue driving to Phnom Penh. Check into your hotel. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Day 10: Phnompenh city tour – Siemreap (overland) (B)

Breakfast will be at the hotel.

You’ll visit some typical sites of the capital including the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the Raung Damrei Museum.

The Palace building and Silver Pagoda are located within the same walled ground. The Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5,000 silver tiles. The treasures include a solid gold Buddha encrusted and weighing 90 kilos and a small 17th-century emerald and baccarat crystal Buddha. And the National Museum of Fine Arts, next to the Royal Palace was dedicated by King Sisowath in 1920.

Over 5,000 objects are on display including Angkorian era statues, lingas and other artifacts, most notably the legendary statue of the “Leper King”. The emphasis is on Angkorian artifacts, there is also a nice collection of pieces from later periods, including a special exhibition of post-Angkorian Buddha figures then visit the Toul Sleng Museum of Genocide.

Lunch at a  restaurant. After your lunch, we drive to Siem Reap. The journey will take around 6-7 hours to cover the distance of 314km. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Overnight in Siem Reap

Day 11: Siemreap, Angkor Wat (B)

Early morning transfer to the archaeological site for the sunrise from the Angkor Wat temples. Return to your hotel for breakfast.

This morning, visit the South Gate (with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk) the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century) then visit Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara), the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. In the afternoon, visit Ta Prom then visit the 7th world heritage wonderful of Angkor Wat.

In the late afternoon, enjoy the sunset view on the top of Phnom Bakheng temple. Dinner at a local restaurant with traditional Apsara dance show & overnight in Siem Reap.

Day 12: Siemreap – Luang Prabang (Flight) (B)

After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Take a traditional wooden boat for a ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, one of the largest lakes in Asia and flows into Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh.

We will see a fishermen’s “floating village” with floating schools, floating police station, etc. and the “village” moves from place to place following water levels and the current. Then transfer to the airport for a flight to Luang Prabang.

Arrival to Luang Prabang. On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

After a short rest, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. We then climb up to the top of Mount Phousi for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by the hill tribe and local people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 13: Luang Prabang – Khouangsi falls (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast, we board a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, which also gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. Along the way, we stop at the small village of Ban Xanghai, where the local rice wine is distilled. Return to town by road.

Afternoon, we continue towards the Khouangsi Waterfall. En route, we visit the local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Ban Ou, Laoloum and Ban Thapene, then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall.

Here you can take a dip in the inviting pools or walk along the forest trails surrounding the waterfall.  We return to Luang Prabang by evening and continue to Ban Xangkhong, a village well known for the silk hand weaving and the traditional Saa Papermaking. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 14: Luang Prabang – Departure (B)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning, we visit the National Museum (closed on Tuesday) at the former Royal Palace.  It displays a collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through to the last sovereign. We then enjoy the tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture.

Transfer to the airport in the evening for your departure flight.
