Day 1: Hanoi capital welcomes you

Vietcala Travel’s guide will welcome you at Noi Bai airport. Transfer to hotel for check-in.

In the afternoon, visit the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam which was built in 1070; the famous One-Pillar Pagoda, Hoan Kiem Lake.

In the evening, enjoy the famous Water Puppet show in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Halong (B,L,D)

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Ha Long bay.

11h30: Arrive at the harbor. Welcome and transfer to the cruise ship. Briefing about the itinerary, safety instructions and check-in cabin. Enjoy a seafood lunch served on board.

You will visit a floating fishing village. Contemplate beautiful landscape with thousands of islands of different shapes and sizes. Time for relaxing on the deck or try kayaking (on your own account) & swimming (if time permits). Enjoy a dinner served on board. Overnight on board.

Day 3: Ha Long – Hanoi (B,Brunch)

Enjoy sunrise over the Bay.

Then have a light breakfast: cakes, coffee, tea… Relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Then visit a beautiful cave in Halong Bay.  Check out cabins – Luggage collection.

The cruise ship returns to the wharf while you have brunch served on board.

Back to the pier. Return to Hanoi by car. Free time at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi – Ba Be (B,L,D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Ba Be National park. Stop along the route for taking pictures, visit local villages and winding up curving road to Ba Be Lake and National Park, one of the largest natural lakes in Vietnam. Arrive at the park and have lunch.

In the afternoon, we take a short hike to nearby villages or relax in front of the lake with spectacular scenery. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 5: Ba Be Lake & Dau Dang waterfall (B,L,D)

Boat trip on the Nang River, visit the famous Puong Grotto and the wonderful Dau Dang waterfall. Short hike to an ancient temple, continue to the Ba Goa islet.  Stay overnight at a guesthouse in Ba Be.

Day 6: Ba Be – Ha Giang (B,L)

Drive to Ha Giang, a highly mountainous region. Enjoy splendid landscapes on the way. It is a province of northeastern Vietnam with its northernmost point. Overnight in Ha Giang.

Day 7: Explore Ha Giang

Full-day trekking around Ha Giang. Visit some minority villages, exploring the daily life of local people. Overnight in Ha Giang.

Day 8: Ha Giang - Bac Ha

Drive to Bac Ha with photo-stops en route. Check into a Homestay in Bac Ha. Walking surrounding area to see hot. Overnight in Bac Ha.

Day 9: Bac Ha – Sapa (B)

In the morning, visit Bac Ha market – one of the most colorful and biggest mountainous markets of the region (opening only on Sundays).

After lunch, transfer to Sapa. Upon arrival, hotel check-in. Then, take a short walk to visit Sapa’s town. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 10: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Ban Ho (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we start exploring the daily life of mountainous hill tribes in the region. transferred by jeep to Lao Chai to visit Black H’Mong people. Two-hour walking to visit Zay ethnic minority at Ta Van village. Transfer to Ban Ho. Enjoy magnificent landscapes on the way. Overnight at a Tay’s house.

Day 11: Ban Ho – Nam Toong – Nam Ken – Thanh Phu (B,L,D)

After breakfast, you trek up to the Red Dzao village at Nam Ken & Xa Pho who have very little contact with modern Vietnam.

We will trek up to Nam Toong, Nam Ken village of Red Dzao & Xa pho tribes. Overnight at Thanh Phu, in a village of Tay minority.

Day 12: Thanh Phu – Ban Ho – Su Pan – Sapa (B,L)

Breakfast at the homestay before carrying out for trekking back to Ban Ho in a different way. Lunch at Su Pan, then a Jeep will pick you back to Sapa.

Day 13: Sapa – Phong Tho (B,L)

Free at leisure in the morning.

In the afternoon, drive to Phong Tho (~100 km). We will cross the Vietnam highest pass “ O Quy Ho” pass (1,900 m above the sea level). Overnight in Phong Tho.

Day 14: Phong Tho (B)

In the morning, visit the Phong Tho market, a goods exchange place for ethnic minorities in the region. Trekking within Phong Tho area. Overnight in Phong Tho.

Day 15: Phong Tho – Lai Chau – Tuan Giao (B)

Drive to Lai Chau. Enjoy spectacular views from Pha Din pass. Continuing the road to Tuan Giao. Overnight in Tuan Giao.

Day 16: Tuan Giao – Mai Chau (B,L,D)

Drive to Mai Chau (270 km). Check into a homestay. You will spend a night at a homestay with local people.

Day 17: Mai Chau – Hanoi (B)

Breakfast at the homestay, trekking through small villages around Mai Chau.

After lunchtime, transfer to Hanoi. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 18: Hanoi Departure (B)

Free until transfer to the airport for departure flight. End of service.
